Sunnyside During Sunset (Part 1)

Although I've passed through the neighborhood many times when riding on the 7 train or driving along Queens Blvd., it hasn't been until the past few months that I've become a regular visitor to Sunnyside. Cheryl lives in the heart of Sunnyside, and we usually have our dates there--the weekly Pio Pio chicken dinners, sunday breakfast at Pete's Grill, or walking Ugby along Skillman avenue.

Coming to meet her as she finishes work I see Sunnyside during that magical hour. The sun is setting, people are unwinding, and the whole neighborhood lets out a relaxed sigh of another day well spent. I started to bring my camera around after noticing the happenstance. Here's some pictures I've taken since then.

These first sets are of a playground that has been newly built right next to her apartment.
